The 2015 World Golf Scramble: Enter your foursome for a chance at $100K

Usually, playing a golf scramble event is all for fun. You get a foursome of buddies together, eat food, drink cocktails, buy mulligans and enjoy the day. After all, most scrambles are for charity.
The World Golf Scramble offers a more competitive scramble atmosphere, as foursome teams compete for a share of a $100,000 progressive purse, as well as many other prizes.
At the World Golf Fest in Las Vegas from Aug. 13-15, there’s 12 amateur golf events held during the three-day festival:
- World Golf Scramble
- World Golf Skills Challenge
- World Par-3 Challenge
- World Hole-in-One Challenge
- World Distance Challenge
- World Short Game Challenge
- World Putting Challenge
- TaylorMade Tour Fitting Experience
- Parmates Caddie Experience
- Golfboard Surfing Experience
- Footgolf Experience
- World Golf Expo
The World Golf Scramble is the main event, and the one with the six-figure prize on the line. To qualify, groups of foursomes must advance through one of the 125 World Golf Scramble local qualifiers held in the U.S. and Canada.
From qualifying sites with 5-8 participating teams, one team from the Net Division advances. At sites with 9-23 participating teams, two teams advance — one from the Gross Division, one from the Net Division. From sites with 24-36 teams participating, four teams advance — two from the Gross Division, two from the Net Division.
Winners from locals advance to the World Championships in Las Vegas.
At the World Championships, teams from the Gross and Net Division enter a lottery, and are chosen to play in the 18-hole qualifying round at either Sun Mountain or Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Resort. Teams play in waves, with two teams advancing from each 36-team wave.
Top finishers at the World Championships then advance to the World Finals at the Bali Hai Golf Club, where teams compete for a projected $100,000 purse.
To participate, find a local qualifier here. And keep in mind that registration deadlines are approaching as soon as May 2.

Hey just wondering what’s the scores that have won it in the past

This sounds like the defunct Oldsmobile Scramble which seemed to be very successful. I just wonder how you keep the scores honest with winnings being that lucrative. We’ve all seen or experienced people cheating to win a $50 clubhouse certificate.

Hi Jason. We agree with you completely and that’s why we structured our handicap system the way we did. You can learn more about it at http://handicap.worldgolfscramble.com. The entire World Golf Scramble platform was developed by conducting large surveys of PGA Professionals and the rules and regulations we’ve implemented are a result of that. We appreciate any feedback you may have to make the event even better! Thanks again for your insight.

Can’t say I’ve ever drunk cocktails whilst playing a scramble. Must be doing it wrong…

Just wondering how this can be called the ‘World’ Golf Scramble when it is held in only one country…

the same way the Super Bowl makes the winner the world champion; because it sounds cool. and/or because they expect internationals to travel if they want to attend

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the feedback. The World Golf Scramble is a first year event where we decided to limit qualifying events to the United States and Canada. We’ve had a number of inquiries from courses in Australia and Europe already for 2016 and plan to continue to expand the event globally.
We appreciate any and all feedback you have about the event so we can further improve the experiences for our participants. The event platform itself was built by golfers, for golfers.
Thanks!
