We’re mad The Masters is over, too, but at least these shots will live on forever

Monday after The Masters is one of the most depressing days of all for golf fans. It means you have to wait 358 days to reunite with the wonder and beauty of Augusta National. It may take about that long to decompress after the 2016 Masters, though.
By all accounts, this year’s Masters was unforgettable. When Jordan Spieth’s lead ballooned to five strokes midway through his round, it threatened to be another Spieth-induced Sunday snoozer. But what transpired was anything but boring, and something golf fans will never forget.
Spieth’s collapse wasn’t the only memorable shot, or shots, of the tournament, however. The Masters is over, but at least these shots will live on forever.
Louis Oosthuizen’s bank shot

You have to call that bank in a pick-up basketball game, but we’ll give Louis a pass since that was probably the coolest golf shot you’ll see in 2016.
Ernie Els with the “heebie jeebies”
This isn’t the first time a professional golfer has fallen victim to the yips during a major, but Ernie’s was undoubtedly the worst. Scott Hoch‘s was bad, and so was Doug Sanders’, but Ernie’s six-putt — he blamed the “heebie jeebies” — will forever live in infamy.
Back-to-back

During the Masters’ traditional Par-3 contest, we saw Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler make back-to-back holes-in-one… on the same hole and in the same group. Amazing. Although the Par-3 contest is known to produce a slew of holes-in-one, the odds of this occurrence are still unworldly.
Spieth’s collapse
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0Roqx0Q7H8
It was one of the most shocking collapses in Masters major championship history. Spieth blew a five-shot lead with nine holes to play. You couldn’t help but draw comparisons to Greg Norman, who lost the 1996 Masters to Nick Faldo despite holding a six-shot, 54-hole lead.
Norman’s collapse happened before the Twitter era, while Spieth’s happened during the height of “Jordan crying face” era (which may actually never end). Jordan (Spieth) certainly got the (Michael) Jordan treatment, making this not only an unforgettable collapse, but also an unforgettable moment in Twitter history; The Roast of Jordan Spieth.

There’s were plenty more photoshop jobs and Spieth parodies, but you get the point.
Away from the Twitter world, news of the collapse caused NBA star and fellow Under Armour athlete Steph Curry to literally fall to his knees. Spieth fans surely reacted the same way.
And that’s exactly how I feel on Monday of the Masters, knowing the 2017 Masters is a year away.

Jeremy I agree (I’m referring to 95% of the articles on the front page though, not just this one). I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially when online but it’s unfortunate the writers seem to get so many negative posts compared to a normal thread that could be on the same subject.
Guess you can’t please everyone all the time. The articles seem to get way more negative responses than the forum threads do. Hopefully it does not spill into the forums.
Personally I like the articles for the most part. Some are super interesting, and tend to sometimes give a different look at an everyday forum topic. I don’t love all of them, but I don’t see a point in blasting the writers over it. I imagine finding multiple topics to write about throughout the week obviously makes it hard to find “ground breaking” content. And yes I see the slight irony in my post coming off as a possibly negative tone. I guess I’d just hate see the articles by the normal WRX writers disappear, and especially the Barbey Adams, Tom Wishon, Tom Stites ect. articles.
