Tiger Woods says he’s back to working out, hitting 60-yard shots

Tiger Woods updated his return from injury and discussed the upcoming Presidents Cup in a blog post this morning.

The 41-year-old addressed his recovery from an April back surgery (his fourth).

“About my most recent surgery, it’s nice not to live in pain anymore. I’m sleeping better because I don’t have any nerve pain going down my leg. It makes a world of difference.”

While he’s only moved on to hitting “60-yard shots” at this point, he is having putting contests with Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler at his Florida home.

“Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler have been dropping by my house for putting contests. Justin also comes over to practice his chipping. It was fun to celebrate his PGA Championship win with him and Rickie, and we had a blast.”

So Justin is coming over to both chip and putt? Brown noser! But really, it’s good to hear Woods is at least able to “chip and putt every day,” as he writes.

He has also resumed a six-day-per-week workout schedule.

“I’m working out six days a week, alternating between the treadmill, bike riding, swimming and lifting twice a day. My muscle tone is coming back, but I’m not in golf shape yet. That’s going to take time.”

All of this said, and as would be expected, Woods has no timetable for his return to competitive golf.

“I have my six-month back X-rays coming up. Once my surgeon takes a look, he’ll give me the parameters of what I can do moving forward. … Playing wise, I’m not looking ahead yet because I don’t know what kind of swing I’m going to use. I just don’t know what my body is going to allow me to do. Until I do, I’m going to listen to my doctors and continue to take it slowly.”

Woods then goes on to talk at length about how he’s “fired up” for next week’s Presidents Cup, where he will be an assistant captain.

In what has to be one of his longest blog posts to date, Woods addresses everything from the U.S. Open (tennis) to his beloved Raiders 2-0 start, before conceding that, “The last two years have been challenging and I have gone through a great deal. But you have always been there for me and I can’t thank you enough.”

We’ll next see Woods on a golf course (as an assistant captain) at the Presidents Cup at Liberty National next week.

What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
