Spotted: Jordan Spieth’s Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges
We have all been waiting on the edge of our seats for the next Titleist Vokey wedges to be announced, and now we get a sneak peek. Jordan Spieth was spotted with Vokey SM1o wedges in his bag at the 2024 Sentry. Spieth has been a Vokey user his whole career but is not one to switch into brand new equipment right away, no matter what club it is. The SM10 wedges in his bag this week look as if he has been putting in some time with them to get dialed in for the 2024 season.
“I think the biggest difference is when you get to the gap wedge and pitching wedge on the full shots,” Spieth told GolfWRX.com at The Sentry. “I think the sweet spot’s been moved; it’s bigger and it’s moved a little to where any potential over-hook is almost eliminated, which is really nice. You can step up with a left pin and be pretty aggressive.
“Other than that, they look great. I’m pretty particular with my 60. It isn’t always an ‘SM,’ sometimes it’s a separate prototype version, but this time I’m right into the SM10. It looks really good to me. The biggest thing that [Vokey Tour rep Aaron Dill] told me was that as I start to hit those longer shots, they won’t produce the odd outliers that overturn to the left.”
Titleist isn’t dishing out the technical details or release date for the SM10 wedges yet, so we are just speculating here!
Titleist Vokey SM10 46-10F (Bent to 46.5 degrees)
Jordan replaces his iron set’s pitching wedge with a Vokey SM10 wedge. Players do this for a variety of reasons, like launch, spin, or if they require more versatility around the green. Some players might use their 46-degree wedge for pitch or chip shots around the green and the traditional style wedge can sometimes allow them to manipulate the face a little more than their set’s pitching wedge. Personally, I really like the look from address as the wedge looks to have zero offset and a slightly rounder toe.
Titleist Vokey SM10 52-08F (Bent to 51.5 degrees)
The gap wedge in the set is the very popular 52-08F combination that has been around for many, many years. Spieth has his bent slightly strong, only by half of a degree, and that will also reduce the amount of bounce by the same amount. So instead of eight degrees of bounce, he is playing with 7.5 degrees. This reduction probably makes no difference as the F Grind is a full sole grind that is meant for fuller shots with the face played square at address.
Titleist Vokey SM10 56-10S (Bent to 55.5 degrees)
With the sand wedge, Spieth goes with the 56-degree S Grind. This is again a very popular combination and the S Grind has some trailing edge relief that allows Jordan to open the face without the leading edge coming up off the turf too high. From the photos, I am a big fan again of the zero offset and just slightly rounded leading edge. The wedge also has a compact look to it, giving you the confidence that you can get the club through any lie.
Titleist Vokey SM10 60-04T (Bent to 60.5 degrees)
Lob wedges usually have the most exotic soles and Jordan goes with the Vokey T Grind in his 60 degree. The T Grind is built for short game masters like Spieth who want to manipulate the face to hit a wide variety of shots. The large trailing edge relief allows you to really open the face without the leading edge coming up, even on the tightest fairway lies. Four degrees of bounce is a little intimidating, but when you play the T Grind square it does offer a good amount of float through the turf or sand.

3. Ping G440 LST: 9.53%

@phizzy30: “Not a fan of Ping drivers in general, but 440 LST takes the cake. It’s super forgiving across the face for a low spin head, looks and sounds good and the ability to make it play neutral or slightly fade biased through the hosel settings is very appealing.”

@mrmikeac: “I’ve been Anti-Titleist for years and years and years (outside of Vokey, of course). With that being said, HOLY BEGEEZUS the GT3 driver is an absolute NUCLEAR MONSTER! This thing blew my G430 10K Max out of the water in every single category. Forgiveness is the biggest thing that stands out of me, the 3 model has always been one of the less forgiving models in the past but this GT3 can take bad shot after bad shot and still end up in the fairway, I think a ton of that has to do with the adjustability, it’s actually effective. Feel and sound is perfect, that solid crack is so addicting to hear and when you hit it out the screws this thing can absolutely bomb it. Titleist, I’m sorry for doubting you. You have converted me.”

I can’t fathom being good enough to request my wedges be bent 0.5 degrees. My wedges could probably be off by 2 degrees or more and I wouldn’t know it.
