Love Back on Top After One

Davis Love III came off of his first missed Major Championship since 1990 by firing a five under 66 to tie for the lead at the Verizon Heritage with Justin Leonard and Lucas Glover.

Five time champion Love wasted no time getting down to business. He birdied his first two holes and four of his first seven. "I had a good day." said Love. "I hit the ball fairly well most holes. Hit a few bad shots and made a few nice saves in the middle of the round in 8 and 9 and 10, kept the round going. Didn’t make a five."

2002 Champion Justin Leonard also got out and hot early. With a lone bogey at three, Leonard birdied four holes on the front and two on the back for a pair of 33’s. Leonard teed off early in the morning when the chill is still in the air, but avoided the gusty winds that picked up later in the day. Justin Leonard said, "For me it’s pretty easy to get in the mindset of coming here and kind of leaving some of the baggage from last week behind and get over here and relax and play a great golf course."

Lucas Glover spent last weekend watching every second of the telecasts and pining to be back in Augusta. "I played the last couple of years, and not being in this year was obviously a disappointment. But watching it on TV and even when I used to go as a kid, you get home and go putt, that’s just the way that place is and the way the tournament is, you want to be there." Glover must have been motivated a bit as he came out and steadily worked his way out from behind a couple of early bogeys to lead the tournament. Thursday was Glover’s first sub-70 opening round at Harbor Town in six starts there.

Ten other players including Charles Howell III, Camilo Villegas, Stuart Cink, and Anthony Kim are lurking just one stroke back heading into play on Friday. With sunny skies projected Friday and Sunday, we should be in for a great finish from Harbor Town. Davis Love III summed up the weekend nicely, "it’s got to pay off eventually. Keep sticking the tokens in the machine, eventually you’ll get it right."

What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
