2016 Open Championship Odds

Published

on

Good luck trying to pick the favorite for The Open Championship this year. Even Las Vegas is unsure.

Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, and Jordan Spieth are all tied atop the board at 8-to-1 odds to capture the Claret Jug, according to VegasInsiders. And right on their heels is Dustin Johnson at 17/2 odds. Clearly there is plenty to be decided when play gets underway at Royal Troon in Scotland on Thursday morning.

Not to be forgotten in the discussion is Zach Johnson, who outlasted Spieth in a playoff and ended his hunt for a sweep of the majors at this event last year. He currently sits at 55-to-1 odds, same as Bubba Watson and Jim Furyk.

Reigning Masters champion Danny Willett is listed at 30-to-1 odds to capture his second major of the year. Take a full look at the odds, accurate as of 10 p.m. Sunday ET.

Typical, take on the past and forget the rookies and these guys have it. Funny, but a Young guy will win.

LET’S ALL PRAY THAT THE R&A RULES OFFICIALS ARE NOT AS IGNORANT AND HAM HANDED AS THE JERKS THAT EMBARRASSED THEMSELVES AT BOTH THE MENS’ AND LADIES’ US OPENS.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
