Q: Is Jay Haas in this year’s PGA Championship field?
A: Funny you should ask. Yes, he is. But you must have known that he gained entry based on his win of the Senior PGA Championship in May.

Q: What are the odds of Jay Hass winning?
A: About the same as the new soft square grooves rule to get traction.

Q: What’s the purse?
A: $7.5 million. The winner receives. $1.35 million. Brett Farve got nothing from this deal.

Q: By the way, where will the PGA Championship be played in 2016?
A: The same place as in 2005.

Q: Did you know that Willie Anderson won the U.S Open in 1903 at the answer to the last question?
A: No.

Q: Are Ryder Cup standings at stake at the PGA?
A: Yes. In fact, the team will be determined after the tournament concludes on Sunday.

Q: Will Hunter Mahan make the Ryder Cup team?
A: 8 players make the team by points. Hunter is currently 10th on the list behind Woody Austin and Steven Stricker. His mouth, however, is in 29th place. Captain Paul Azinger will personally select the remaining four players of the 12-man team on September 2nd.

Q: When was Oakland Hills Country Club, site of this year’s PGA Championship, founded?
A: Eerie but true, it was founded the exact same year as The PGA of America.

Q: Who were the three players who have won the British Open and the PGA Championship in the same year?
A: That’s easy: Walter Hagen in 1924, Nick Price in 1994, and….um….oooo, I know this!…….ah-ha!  Tiger Woods who, of course, did it twice – 2000 and 2006.

Q: How many former PGA Champions are in this year’s field?
A: 10

Q: Care to tell us who the heck they are?
A: Oh, all right. Tway (1986), Daly (1991), Azinger (1993), Elkington (1995), Brooks (1996), Love III (1997), Singh (1998, 2004), Toms (2001), Beem (2002), Mickelson (2005).

Q: Any last lame facts?
A: Jack was the last player to win both the Masters and the PGA in the same year, 1975.

Q: Lastly, who will win this year’s PGA Championship?

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

Kristoffer Reitan held his nerve at Quail Hollow on Sunday to claim his first PGA Tour victory and the $3.6 million winner’s check that came with it. The Norwegian fended off a packed leaderboard on a dramatic final day, with Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Højgaard both taking home $1.76 million for their runner-up finishes.
