Antigua is well known for specializing in specialized service and “in-stock” orders for the last 30 years. An order in the morning can generally be turned around in the same day. Keeping seasonal and current core performance apparel in stock, they are able to accommodate an order for high-quality apparel in a short time without compromising on product quality. In addition, Antigua’s customer service department is reputed for their immediate reaction time, meticulous attention to detail, and high service ethic. In their 30^th year now, they aspire to build the brand itself as just that – a “brand” and not merely a supplier.

Antigua makes an effort to find the factories and suppliers right down to the mill level that are developing the newest technologies in fabrics. Those that look for what is next in fabrics and performance wear are used in particular. At the same time, the company actively seeks out specific suppliers and tells them what we are trying to do with the technology of the fabric. Antigua’s proprietary Desert Dry is a performance fabric that they have had since introducing their performance category for golf. It is exclusive to Antigua and is a moisture managing fabric. Desert Dry is an evolution from the days of using two layers with cotton in the moisture wicking fabrics. Consumers wanted shirts to have the look of cotton but perform as moisture-wicking fabrics and so these shirts would be more than one layer and would actually cause the wearer to perspire and nearly defeat the purpose of a performance fabric. Now it is possible to make a shirt that has only one layer that still looks good and performs in a way more conducive to performance. Antigua does thorough testing to make sure that the product lives up to expectations. For example, the fabric is put to the test with how many times it can be washed and worn.

Having the performance technology for several years now, the company has gone back to make a fabric that is even lighter and now introduces the Desert Dry Xtra-Lite this year. This is a fabric that is extremely light without being sheer whatsoever. Construction is done with a three dimensional approach and this what makes it extremely light without being sheer or see-through. In addition the Xtra-Lite is designed to perform even faster as far as moisture wicking is concerned. This new technology can be found in both the men’s and women’s lines of golf apparel.

The target audience for Antigua’s product line is the weekend golfer. These are golfers that are dedicated to performing on the course and expect their apparel to perform and move with them. From business casual to a round on Saturday, Antigua aims to meet the demand.

WITB Time Machine: Phil Mickelson’s winning WITB, 2021 PGA Championship

Phil Mickelson made history at the 2021 PGA Championship on Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course. At 50, he became the oldest player to win a major, breaking Julius Boros’s record. Starting the final round with a slim lead, Lefty faced tough competition from Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen. He pulled ahead with key birdies and a standout 366-yard drive on the 16th hole. Finishing 6 under par and two shots ahead, Mickelson claimed his sixth major and second PGA Championship. Many saw his win as an inspiring comeback, showing that experience and determination can still lead to victory in professional golf — and, sometimes, age is just a number.

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
