After starting the tournament slowly and sitting well off the pace early, McIlroy surged back into contention with strong weekend play, ultimately closing with a final-round 68 to finish at 10-under par.

Does anyone know what kind of golf pride grips she’s using? The red ones? They look like the tour velvet but just was curious.

Astounding she could be this far along in her career and they finally get her into the correct lie angle for her putter??? (I know its a “new” stance, relatively speaking, but….)
She hits a low ball. Surprised at the 9.5 driver and even more surprised by a 13º 3W. And even more surprised to see they seem to recognize this in the adoption of high launch S300 shafts.
Great to see her win. I have horrible food allergies like she does and have been rooting for her ever since I learned that about MW.
She seems to do OK with beer and twerking though! ha!

Been a fan since she started, finally got over the yips, seemed very calm and poised, Does present herself very well and nice to see an American in lime light, Good going Michelle.

She can really compress the ball. Her swing speed has got to be in the 110 mph neighborhood.

What is that grind on her lob wedge?
Chuck
Jun 22, 2014 at 10:11 pm
Nike “Tow Sweep” grind. Getting lots of attention and rapidly growing use on tour.

“Toe Sweep” Not Tow truck sweep.

Absolutely correct. Thanks for the correction that somehow auto-corrected incorrectly when originally typed. Maybe the capitalized T threw off my spellcheck.

You mean it’s a “Tow Mader Sweep grind”

Dumb question…
I seem to recall being astonished at MW using X100’s in her irons, and something equally boss in her woods.
When did she go to S300 High-launch?
I’m so disappointed. I was watching NBC’s excellent slo-mo video of her compressing a mid-iron shot and thinking, ‘Damn, that is what a PGA Tour player does to an X100.’

I’m speculating that she switched after her wrist injury…

The Red on the Covert products looks ridiculous. How about an all black, deep gray or white head offering.

Want that putter
Chuck

She’s a poised and an elegant-looking young woman with a beautiful golf swing.
But when it comes to putting, I don’t want to watch Michelle Wie, or think about her, or even what sort of putter she uses. She’s the television version of the yips.
If she could putt, this would have been her sixth major. She’s a putting train wreck.
She obviously has found something with this new, unwatchable stance and stroke. Good for her. I can’t watch it.

You speak of how good looking she is…and then say you cant watch her putt? That’s her best looking angle.

She can putt, and I love to watch her do it.

WHAT?! How can you NOT watch her bend over? Are you an LPGA Tour player? That’s the only way that would make sense.

Further, regarding her putter this week; from GD, noting that she went to a 4.5 degree flatter lie angle on that Nike Method putter:
