Adam Scott chooses a new caddie

Published

on

Adam Scott’s caddie search is over. On Monday, the world’s No. 3-ranked golfer enlisted Zimbabwean Mike Kerr as his full-time caddie for the 2014-2015 season.

“I’m delighted that Mike has accepted my offer and I am confident that he will be a valuable member of my team for 2015 and beyond,” Scott said in a statement on Monday.

After Steve Williams and Scott parted ways in September, the 2013 Masters Champion began looking for a replacement. Over his last five events in 2014, Scott had Eddie Gardino on the bag at the Japan Open, David Clark at the HSBC Champions and Kerr at the Australian PGA and Australian Open, where the duo finished fifth and T2, respectively.

Kerr’s bag-carrying resume includes Ernie Els, Miguel Angel Jiminez and Lee Westwood. Scott is set to return to competition in February at the Honda Classic.

He played on the Hawaii Pacific University Men's Golf team and earned a Masters degree in Communications. He also played college golf at Rutgers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

There were two things I was interested to find out about Adam. One of them has just been answered. The other is what he’s going to putt with once the anchoring ban is in force. Wonder if he’ll play his next event with something new? Should be interesting to see what he does.

No caddies, no yardage charts/markers and a 45 second shot clock. So let’s see who can look at it, pick the club and pull the trigger. Oh hang on isn’t this the way the game way designed to be played – 3 hours for 18 holes!!!!

Would have loved to get on Adam’s bag. To Steve’s dozen Major wins, nobody can compare. Yet, I do offer exceptional greenreading abilities that Steve does not have.

Good for the new caddie. Hopefully he chooses a new putter as well, not that long.

Anyone know why Stevie Williams left?

This must be devastating for that member here who said the reason why TW and AS won all those majors and events was cuz of Stevie.

How about having a few tour events on TV without caddies? Would be interesting to see the ratings. I bet they will be high. It will appeal to many viewers for many different reasons.

Let’s give ’em $1500 to buy all their clubs, bag, push cart, balls, tees and gloves.Take away their caddie and coach. Then we could see how they do with the common man’s usual constraints. (I’m just jealous)

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
