Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson are parents

Dustin Johnson and fiancee Paulina Gretzky became parents on Monday, Jan. 19 when she gave birth to a baby boy, according to a statement Johnson made through his management company. The baby’s name has not yet been announced.
The eight-time PGA Tour winner has been on a six-month leave of absence from the PGA Tour, but is expected to return at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in February. The last time he played competitively was at the RBC Canadian Open where he missed the cut.
Johnson, 30, has recently denied any claims that his absence from golf was due to cocaine abuse, but he did acknowledge a problem with binge drinking.
“I DON’T MISS WAKING UP WITH A HANGOVER, AND I DIDN’T DRINK VERY OFTEN,” JOHNSON said to golf.com. “IT WAS JUST WHEN I DID IT WAS A LITTLE TOO MUCH.”
He also said that he didn’t enter rehab, as media outlets have speculated during his hiatus. Johnson did, however, say that he hired a team, which consisted of a life coach and several clinicians, to “help him better understand what drives him, how to handle stress and how to unlock his latent potential.”
“Over these past four or five months I’ve really grown up,” he says, “and I am starting to become the person I want my kids to look up to.”

I just love how some “reporter” can make a claim that Dustin Johnson has had an issue with cocaine, and it’s taken as fact by many in the golf world. These “allegations” offered no evidence of Mr Johnson’s drug use. I guess if someone says an “anonymous source told me this”, it’s a fact??? During a recent interview, Johnson said he was struggling with the abuse of alcohol, and had sought treatment. The world of media is wreckless, and these so called journalist can ruin someone’s reputation with a just a few keystrokes of baseless inuendo, and have no fear of accountability.

it was the blood test that revealed the cocaine.

I miss dustin. A stud on the course. The game needs Americans like him who go for it on the course. Hope having a kid changes his off course habits. Looking forward to those bombing drives at the Farmers. Stay cool Dustin we love you.

Another professional golfer addicted to the booger sugar. Binge drinking is a nice ploy, as “drinking a little too much” is something more can relate to. We don’t need to be informed of all the details, but implying that we are stupid and so ignorant to believe an article like this is funny. Be well, DJ.

So binge drinking is part of the PGAs substance abuse policy?? Come on DJ.
DJ failed three drug tests: one for marijuana in 2009 and two for cocaine, in 2012 and 2014. He was previously suspended for the 2012 failed test, but that suspension was never made public. Under the PGA Tour’s drug-testing policies, the Tour is not required to announce any disciplinary actions against players who test positive for recreational drugs.
You are great guy and want to see you back, but owning up is where it starts.

I always thought she would not have good influence on him. Met DJ and he seems like a nirmal dude. Think this will put a positiv spin in his live and get him back on the tour.

I hope that his commentary is sincere and that his perspective has truly changed. The realization that he was going to be a father may have been the reality check he needed. I worry though that his words, at times, sounded forced and somewhat rehearsed. I think at this stage in the game, fans of all sports expect a form of denial prior to the revelation of truth. Unfortunately, the truth is in the hands of the PGA Tour and that is where it will remain. Funny how they have no problem calling out a guy for failing a PED test, but they refuse to comment on recreational results. I guess the image continues to be far more important than the truth. They learned real fast from MLB that not having a stringent PED protocal in place could potentially disgrace the game as well as allow for some fans to walk away in disgust. Now they need to learn from UFC and understand that drugs are drugs, regardless of their classification, and that if one of their members tests positive, that information should be released as part of the infraction. Full disclosure would hurt the players image, not the games image. This is where the PGA Tour has failed in their reasoning. More importantly it may also help “speed up” the recovery process for the guilty individual. Shame can certainly be a great motivator.
As a fan, I could care less about what DJ does off the course. I simply appreciate his ability and enjoy watching him play the game. As a person, I hope his demons have been faced and that he, Paulina, & their son, can enjoy each and every moment they will share moving forward, even if he were to never tee it up again. Hopefully, the best of both worlds can be obtained.
