Apparently, winning on the PGA Tour doesn’t guarantee they’ll spell your name right

Published

We doubt Tiger Woods ever had this problem: last year’s Travelers Championship winner, Kevin Streelman arrived to hit balls on the range at TPC River Highlands to find he’d acquired an extra “e” in his last name.

Kevin Streeleman, ladies and gentleman.

Kudos to Streelman for not going ballistic, kicking the sign to pieces, demanding respect and withdrawing from the tournament.

Webb Simpson retweeted Streelman on the matter, and added an item from the FedEx St. Jude two week’s ago featuring “Defending champion Harris English” AKA Ben Crane.

Nothing lets you know you’ve made it as a tournament-winning golfer on the PGA Tour like having your name misspelled or being misidentified. The latter is probably worse. I mean, who was captioning the photo and thought, “Well, I don’t know what Harris English looks like. Don’t know what Ben Crane looks like either. But hey, this guy looks like a Harris, I think I’ll go with him.”

Sidebar: Why would you want to win the Masters Green Jacket when you can win the FedEx St. Jude lab/CVS pharmacist coat with sweet patch?

Tough moments, indeed.

Actually, that’s not a white pharmacist coat at all. It’s a seersucker jacket. Each Sunday during the final round of the FESJC the volunteers and tournament management wears seersucker. The winner of the FESJC is presented with a seersucker jacket at the trophy presentation and that’s what you see in the picture.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
