PGA Tour player Billy Hurley III’s father, Willard Hurley Jr. has been missing since July 19, news that his son made public during a press conference at the Quicken Loans National on Tuesday.

“No one knows why he left, he’s been married to my mom for 30 years and now he’s gone. I just want to let him know that: Dad, we love you and we want you to come home.[/quote_box_center]

Willard Hurley (pictured below), 61-years old, is a retired police officer who resides in Leesburg, Va., with his wife. He was last seen driving a dark green 1998 Ford F-150 with license plate YWH-5898, according to reports.

The Hurley family home is located just around 25 miles from the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, where this week’s Quicken Loans National is being played. Hurley III, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and oldest of four children, says he hopes his participation in the event will help draw attention to the case.

“Maybe, you know, a bartender who served him dinner sees this story on ‘Golf Central’ or whatever, and we can get a hit on his location or something,” Hurley III told ESPN.

Willard’s wife filed a missing persons report on Monday according to Leesburg police spokesperson Lt. Jeffrey Dube.

“Right now, we have no reason to believe that there’s any suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance,” Dube told ESPN. “Everything points to that he left his residence on his own volition.”

Dube also said Willard used a credit card to buy gas near Winchester, Va., on July 19, the day he left.

If you know anything about Willard Hurley’s whereabouts, please reach out.

He played on the Hawaii Pacific University Men's Golf team and earned a Masters degree in Communications. He also played college golf at Rutgers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

GAINESVILLE, Va. — Billy Hurley III asked for the public’s assistance Tuesday in the search for his dad, Willard Hurley Jr., who has been missing for nine days. Fighting back tears, Hurley, in the field at this week’s Quicken Loans National, said his father drove off in his truck on July 19 with some clothes and cash, and hasn’t been heard from since.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
