I have never completely understood the dislike for nike. my experience has always been that they are at least on par with everything else out there. maybe not better but not far behind either.

How can they be ICONIC? Wilson, MacGregor, Titleist – these are icons. Not a company that hasn’t been in the golf business for 2 seconds.

I was just thinking, “man, the one thing missing from Brooks Koepkas game is big stupid flat billed hats.”

Those were the time when Nike only signed best athlets of this world. Now they can only do it by numbers. Koepka and Finau are certainly good player with screen coverage but rest of those boys fly under the radar.

As Koepka fades into the distance. Nike is really raking them in.

Have never been a fan of Nike or of their equipment or their clothing line. Here today on sale at most outlet type stores tomorrow. They flood the market which is good for them and they throw money at pros like crews throw beads at Marti Gras. Good for the pros and for major colleges. Smart marketing department. Prefer quality over quantity. Have played all the brands out there and old school ended up with a brand that has survived thru the years, Titleist/FJ and it fits my game, but am not a pro and get paid to play their brand.

How does Nike flood the market? TM floods the market while Nike releases a new set every year like most companies.
I’m a Titleist guy to but who cares. Play what you like the look and feel of. Who cares what brands the tour players or we play.

You need young big hitters in the lineup.

shout out from the nordics here 🙂
suggest you keep Lucas bjerregard and Marcus Kinhult in your minds.
Bjerregard is a Danish Koepka, Young, big, steady, all round, had an awesome streak end of last season in sub 70 rounds, think he was top 10 in the last 6 tournaments or something.
Kinhult is swedish boy wonder who has been destined star since his low teens. made cuts in all 3 ET tournaments he played as an amateur (w a top 10 in switzerland) made ET q school in first try. 19 years old.

Nike signed Brooks Koepka?
Isn’t one of his best friends Peter Uihlein, Former US Amateur Champion at Chambers Bay, and son of Wally Uihlein, CEO of Titleist/Foot Joy Worldwide?
With all of those Titleist/FJ clothing ads both of them did together in the last two years.

More prof it is the Indian not the arrows ….play what You like not what some pro gets paid to play….remember pros clubs are custom models of most anything you can buy and can be adjusted for them 360 days a year.

Nike is iconic on a sports landscape, a heck of a lot more than Callaway or Footjoy. Nike also tries to grow the game by innovating and not doing what everyone else does. They are changing the appearance of golf to not have the same old stale practices that so many are used to. Additionally, I don’t know the financials but I guarantee Titleist and Callaway paid those guys a lot of money as well. Finau and Koepka want to be a part of something bigger. Finally, there is 365 days in a year and what is prof?

What? So you mean that ugly yellow and Volt is iconic for the game of golf? If you compare the Vapor line to the Titleist 716 line Titleist is just pure class as golf equipment should be, and Nike is just some fancy sportsbrand. If a players picks ugly Volt yellow over Footjoy Icon and classy Titleist there is something totally wrong and the only thing that can make a player to make that change is money. Period. Eod!

Nike appeals to a younger more athletic individual also to kids who grew up playing other sports where Nike dominates. Also Icons don’t fit everyone’s style or swings to want anyways. I own icons and they aren’t even in my top 5 best golf shoes. Nike shoes and clothing is great. As is Adidas, as is Under Armor. Buy what you like and don’t be an a**hole if its something you don’t

Now if they could only sell merchandise in the retail stores…. They are by far our worst seller over the past 3 years, we can’t give their merchandise away except for clothing.

exactly there definitely not playing with plastic nike is a great company they have been around since way before my time goes back to jordan and basketball then that pos vicc then tiger when they see great talent of course there gonna swoop them up because they have the money too do so there are many great irons but theres a specific brand there gonna be hitting tell you this you can’t get them here even at all Tony is gonna be one of the greats the story how he learned is not like any other player on the tour as we know golf isn’t cheap and you need backing to play a good handicap meaning good quality tools and tell you one little thing he didn’t have the best of tool growing up I know because I watched him on the daily
