Tiger Woods to miss U.S. Open, Quicken Loans National

Published

5In a statement posted to his website today, Tiger Woods confirmed what most golf fans suspected: He’s still not physically ready to play tournament golf. As such, he won’t be in the field for the nation’s championship next week at Oakmont. Neither will he be in the field for the Quicken Loans National the week after the U.S. Open.

The 14-time major winner’s brief statement reads in part:

“While I continue to work hard on getting healthy, I am not physically ready to play in this year’s U.S. Open and the Quicken Loans National. I am making progress, but I’m not yet ready for tournament competition.

Hater’s hate because they know something could happen, he could be great again. Why else beat somebody down that’s supposedly done and over with. Peoples’ fears drive their trash talk, no other reason to beat a dead horse if its truly dead. Real character comes to the forefront hiding behind a keyboard, talking trash cause your afraid of something happening, or someone for that matter. He WAS great, and might still have some of that left in the tank, please take your fear of his dominating in golf and leave it be. No need to act classless behind your screens…

Did anybody really think he would be coming back? It’s over. The years of steroid abuse have taken it’s toll. There is no coming back. He’s just another blip within the history of golf.

There is no evidence of steroid use. He is a lot more than a blip in the history of golf. You opinion is ignorant and without any logical base.

Nice troll post. Please provide a shred of evidence of steroid use. That accusation doesn’t even pass the eye test. And a blip in the history of golf? He’s at worst the second best player of all time, so if he’s a blip than any player other than Jack is a nobody. Try using a modicum of thought and intelligence next time you post.

USGA is sweating that Tiger would be a no show coming major events. Love him or hate him, still a major crowd puller and more importantly, sponsor magnet.

For me, I just wanted to see divine golf again. Seeing him previously, made me wonder how can pros missed the hole by more than 10 feet within 150 yards.

yep. bought tickets to go from Vegas to Pittsburgh to see him. Didn’t matter if he made the cut or not. I bet we’ll see a ton of resale tickets on the market now.
