Ping i10 Sand Wedge WRX Grind

I have been playing my Ping i10 irons since last December, well since last December I have played them about six times.

Now that the weather has finally thawed out here in southwestern Ohio I have committed to playing my i10’s this golfing season. My set lacks a matching sand wedge, which I actually prefer. Out with the old (Ping ISI BeCu), and in with the new, but in high class, WRX style.

I prefer to have a 56 degree sand wedge that gives me a lot of options off the fairway, around the greens and in the sand. My next step was to check out the options at Ping’s WRX department for specialized wedge grinds.

I chose the “T” grind for my 54 degree sand wedge. The T grind offers the most versatility for my short game. Not all grinds are available on all Ping wedges, especially the classic Ping irons. I checked out Pinggolf.com and downloaded the Ping Wrx Department’s current pdf catalog to make the decision easier.

Did I say 54 degree sand wedge? TO me a 54 degree wedge is more of a weaker gap wedge and just doesn’t suit my game around the greens and in the sand. Well, since this was a custom order (Thanks Discount Dans!) I had them bend it to 56 degrees and also bend it 2.25 degrees upright (Silver Dot Color Code) just to my personal preference and fitting. From phone call to wedge delivery, it was about 12 days total. This wedge is a real looker, I’ll let you know how it (and the T Grind) performs later next week.

The grind machining was expertly done and looks awesome on this i10 wedge.

WITB Time Machine: Phil Mickelson’s winning WITB, 2021 PGA Championship

Phil Mickelson made history at the 2021 PGA Championship on Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course. At 50, he became the oldest player to win a major, breaking Julius Boros’s record. Starting the final round with a slim lead, Lefty faced tough competition from Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen. He pulled ahead with key birdies and a standout 366-yard drive on the 16th hole. Finishing 6 under par and two shots ahead, Mickelson claimed his sixth major and second PGA Championship. Many saw his win as an inspiring comeback, showing that experience and determination can still lead to victory in professional golf — and, sometimes, age is just a number.

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
