European Tour – BMW International Open

Martin Kaymer somehow recovered from a final round case of the nerves to beat Anders Hansen in the first hole of a playoff to win the BMW International Open in Munich and his second victory on the European Tour this year.

Taking a 6 shot lead into the last day and having played beautifully all week, everybody watching expected the young German to canter to an easy victory. With 3 rounds in the sixties (68, 63, 67), Kaymer had made the course at München Eichenried look like a pitch and putt. While others strugled to come to terms with the course, Kaymer’s length and excellent course management had even Berhard Langer voicing his admiration.

"I told him ‘you’re very aggressive, but you’re smart at the same time like Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson’. He’s got an old head on young shoulders," said Langer "going by the last two days I don’t think there any limits for him if he keeps that up."

On the Sunday things changed as hard charging from Anders Hansen, Paul Casey and John Bickerton put the pressure on Kaymer who bogeyed the 1st and the 7th on the front nine where the previous 3 visits had yielded 8 birdies and nothing higher than a par. Kaymer then found himself in even more trouble on the par 5 11th when he found the water twice to card a triple bogey. Hansen at this time had been rattling off birdies and took the lead but a birdie at 13 and a tap in birdie at 18 when his eagle putt was agonizingly close was enough to force the play-off

After the excitement of the closing 9, the play-off proved to be a bit of an anti-climax as Hansen found the bunkers twice as Kaymer notched up his 20th birdie of the week for the win.

What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
