Sergio stuck with Taylormade and won a major then switched to Calloway. His new clubs look beautiful, the MB’s are pretty sweet.

Are you saying 48* is a weak wedge?…….(I’m getting old)

Yeah, today it is. I run this strategy most of the time w a 47, and yes it brings the grip down 9 into play sometimes. Personally I like playing less than full shots with my 8 and down more than most, and the only reason i carry a gap is have a sole thats much more aggressive than my 56 (the lofts are less important). I also chip w the pw as much as the situation allows.

It’s because he plays weak lofted mbs and wants to carry a 5 wood so he has to tighten wedge gaps down which works cause his 9 to 48 isn’t a big jump.
