TG2: “What sneaker would you turn into a golf shoe?”

Published

on

“If you could turn any sneaker into a golf shoe, what would you pick?”

This question was first raised in our recent “Yo, GolfWRX?” episode, leading to a number of responses on Facebook — some better than others. So, for this week’s Two Guys Talkin’ Golf episode, equipment expert Brian Knudson and Editor Andrew Tursky discuss their top-3 sneaker picks to turn into golf shoes. Also, they discuss Tiger Woods’ reported club head speed of 128.4 mph, and whether that’s even possible.

Bonus Giveaway: We will select a random follower from our @TG2WRX Instagram page to win a Ping Vault 2.0 Dale Anser putter. Click here and press follow to enter. We will announce the winner in two weeks!

What dress shoe would you turn into a golf shoe? I’d go with my slip-on loafers made in Spain. Or, in a pinch, my farm & ranch boots by Georgia Boots. I’ve actually used the latter on the range and practice putting green.

Want to stop hearing of a$$holes at PGA Tour events? Stop selling them the golf shoes they wear. This isn’t rocket science.

In the category of shoes that would actually work well, to add to Vans, I would love to see a pair of Nike Cortez. Maybe the old adidas Sambas or Gazelles. Skateboard shoes, too. Maybe DC shoes.

A putter that I love and hate – Club Junkie Podcast

Published

on

In this episode of the Club Junkie Podcast, we dive into one of the most interesting flatstick releases of the year with a full review of the new TaylorMade SYSTM 2 putters. After spending time on the greens, I break down what makes this design stand out, where it performs, and why it has me completely torn between loving it and fighting it. If you are into feel, alignment, and consistency, this is one you will want to hear about.

We also take a look at some of the putters in play on the PGA Tour last week. From familiar favorites to a few surprising setups, there is always something to learn from what the best players in the world are rolling with under pressure.

To wrap things up, I walk through the process of building a set of JP Golf Prime irons paired with Baddazz Gold Series shafts. From component selection to performance goals, this is a deep dive into what goes into creating a unique custom set and why this combo has been so intriguing.
