A putter that I love and hate – Club Junkie Podcast
In this episode of the Club Junkie Podcast, we dive into one of the most interesting flatstick releases of the year with a full review of the new TaylorMade SYSTM 2 putters. After spending time on the greens, I break down what makes this design stand out, where it performs, and why it has me completely torn between loving it and fighting it. If you are into feel, alignment, and consistency, this is one you will want to hear about.
We also take a look at some of the putters in play on the PGA Tour last week. From familiar favorites to a few surprising setups, there is always something to learn from what the best players in the world are rolling with under pressure.
To wrap things up, I walk through the process of building a set of JP Golf Prime irons paired with Baddazz Gold Series shafts. From component selection to performance goals, this is a deep dive into what goes into creating a unique custom set and why this combo has been so intriguing.

Science has proven that external focus is the most effective means to learn a complex movement such as golf swing. Impact is an important part of external focus however, not nearly everything.
Even the worst golfers will reach a perfect impact position once in a while. Thats what generates brain chemistry we crave to keep golfer coming back for more.
The divot begins after the ball position at address, has been acknowledged forever. Sorry, that didnt begin 11 years ago.

Yes, no need to practice endlessly, mindlessly, painfully when all we need do is “focus externally”. It’s simply a matter of “mind over matter” and everything magically falls into place.

Skip to ~36 minute mark for Clampett and it goes on to the 43 minute mark… good stuff.
One thing is to understand what happens at impact regardless of swing style. Should learn the pro impact to play better… e.g. swing low point 4″ past ball for irons. Tune in…. 🙂
