Stephen Curry will tee it up on the Web.com Tour again

“Back-to-back” continues to be a theme in Steph Curry’s life. The Golden State Warriors point guard, who won his second NBA title in a row this year, will make his second appearance at the Web.com Tour’s Ellie Mae Classic in August.

The Web.com Tour announced today that Curry has accepted a sponsor’s exemption into the event. While he missed the cut, Curry’s performance last year was impressive: he shot two rounds of 74 and finished 148th in the 156-man field at TPC Stonebrae.

“The players on the Web.com Tour welcomed me with open arms in 2017, and it was an amazing experience to play with up-and-coming PGA Tour stars inside the ropes at TPC Stonebrae,” Curry said in a statement issued on Monday.

“I have been fortunate to be a member of an incredible team in the Golden State Warriors, and I was elated to feel that same level of camaraderie onsite last year. Golf is a game that has provided wonderful experiences in my life, and I am excited to return to the Ellie Mae Classic in August.”

Curry currently maintains a 0.0 handicap, higher than his peak of plus-1.2.

Curry regularly plays the celebrity tournament the American Century Classic in Lake Tahoe. He tied for 11th out of a field of 92 earlier this month.

The three-time NBA champion is close to finalizing a hosting agreement with the PGA Tour for a September 2019 tournament.

its a sponsors exemption people hes not taking food off anyones table. Wanna make sure you get in the tourny…play better and qualify

Cool I know he’s got no chance to compete, but it’s a really easy course.
Stephan Jagear shot 58 there.

It helps grow the game, kids seeing that curry plays golf they might want to as well.

Wish they’d let one other nba golfer in the tournament to at least see who wins that, ray Allen beat curry in Tahoe. Jr Smith is pretty decent let him in too.

Another missed cut. Steph should be playing in amateur events. He is a great player, but no where near the level that is required to play on Florida Moonlight events let alone the Web.com!!

I’m glad he was invited, it might help with the turnout. But what if 20 other athletes from other sports wanted to play ? What would they do about the players who earn rights on that tour?

  They never let these “celebrities” take a spot from someone. They just add a spot on top of the already qualified field.
  
  Almost every web tournament does this. Let the local pro play etc.

What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
