i think i would have prefered this from someone who doesn’t manufacture shafts….$250 upcharge for hand crafted is a bit much.

Listen… because the shaft is the most important part of the golf club… then the grip and lastly the clubhead. All gearheads and duffers get it bass ackward… they only look at the clubhead and slobber over it. Stoooopid…!!!

Some lures are designed to catch fish, other lures are designed to catch fishermen….

… and a pretty golf shaft connected to an equally pretty clubhead… and the gearheads proudly proclaim “I love it!”. Makes ya wonder why anybody human would “love” cold metal… 😮

Club Junkie’s Titleist GTS driver fitting results!

Published

on

On this episode of the Club Junkie Podcast, I head to the Titleist Performance Institute for a full driver fitting with the new Titleist GTS lineup. We dive into the fitting process, talk about what made the biggest difference in performance, and break down how the different GTS heads and shaft combinations compare on the launch monitor. If you are thinking about a new driver setup for this season, there is a lot to take away from this one.

I also get into Brooks Koepka and the gear setup he brought to the PGA Championship, including the putters that caught my eye during the week. There are some interesting equipment trends showing up at the highest level right now and we break down what stands out.

To wrap things up, I talk about reshafting a few wedges, what I learned during the process, and swapping an adaptor onto a new shaft for another build project in the shop. A gear packed episode from start to finish for anyone who loves golf equipment and club building.

Published

In this episode of the Club Junkie Podcast, we dive into one of the most interesting flatstick releases of the year with a full review of the new TaylorMade SYSTM 2 putters. After spending time on the greens, I break down what makes this design stand out, where it performs, and why it has me completely torn between loving it and fighting it. If you are into feel, alignment, and consistency, this is one you will want to hear about.

We also take a look at some of the putters in play on the PGA Tour last week. From familiar favorites to a few surprising setups, there is always something to learn from what the best players in the world are rolling with under pressure.

To wrap things up, I walk through the process of building a set of JP Golf Prime irons paired with Baddazz Gold Series shafts. From component selection to performance goals, this is a deep dive into what goes into creating a unique custom set and why this combo has been so intriguing.
