I haven’t seen anyone comment yet on Rickie’s putter. To me it looks brand new. Although similar in general appearance, like the GSS and white enamel paint, all other details are different. The sightline over the flange is gone in preference for a dot over the topline (a la TWoods). The bumpers now say scotty cameron, while the cavity says Rickie. He putted very well over the weekend and I hope it’s due to the new putting alignment.

Lindsay Vonn is a coal burning mud shark. No self respecting white man will ever date that roastie. She will pay the toll.

Any idea if his 4 iron f9 is bent strong? I read it has a graphite shaft at 3iron length. He was killing it. Hit the par 5 (hole 15?) on the back 9 in 2 from 250ish out with it. What a weapon.

word on the cart path says his 4i is set 19º.

Great win for Rickie…ONCE again we were treated to an example of the stupidity of R&A,, USGA rules of golf…..a ball at rest should be a ball in play and only movement by player should be considered..slop and any outside agency beyond the players control moving a resting ball should only require re-placement as near as possible to original resting place. How come they have that rule in place for a ball teed up in teeing area but not through the green??? example wind blows ball off tee…

Actually that’s not the rule. They called it correctly. He didn’t make a song and dance about it, he grinned out the result like a world class player should.

In most instances this rule would probably break even in terms of positive/negative impact. I think this was a rare example that showed a fatal flaw with the rule as written though. A ball at rest that happens to roll into a penalty area by force of an outside agency should be a free drop IMO. That said, the whole thing could have been avoided if Rickie had played from the original spot after hitting into the water. I’m guessing he just didn’t want to be hitting toward the water again after that bad visual, but it was the much smarter play even before factoring the additional penalty stroke. I finally jumped on the Rickie Fowler bandwagon about 5 or 6 years ago and was extremely bummed to see what took place on that hole. Glad to see he bounced back and closed out a tournament that he’s been so close to winning on multiple occasions.

So if his second shot ended there and came to rest, but eventually rolled in no penalty?

a placed ball or even a dropped ball is clearly a different scenario…

How come whenever there’s a new prototypeish club like this “cobra speedback iron” there’s never a picture of it?!?! Is it a 3 iron I’m guessing?

No it’s actually the new chunky F9 speedback iron.
Benny
Feb 3, 2019 at 8:02 pm
It has to be a 3 or 2 iron. He drove this iron 260-270 off the tee. I know he is long but that’s nuts to see a 4i go that long but these days who knows?!
