Mondays Off: Should the PGA Professional Championship winner get 6 PGA Tour exemptions?
The winner of the PGA Professional Championship, Alex Beach, gets an invite to the PGA Championship along with six exemptions into PGA Tour events. Steve got into a conversation that six is too many for a club pro, so the guys discuss both sides or the issue.
Neither Steve nor Knudson watched the Wells Fargo…but Knudson did narrow down some clubs in his bag.

A putter that I love and hate – Club Junkie Podcast
In this episode of the Club Junkie Podcast, we dive into one of the most interesting flatstick releases of the year with a full review of the new TaylorMade SYSTM 2 putters. After spending time on the greens, I break down what makes this design stand out, where it performs, and why it has me completely torn between loving it and fighting it. If you are into feel, alignment, and consistency, this is one you will want to hear about.
We also take a look at some of the putters in play on the PGA Tour last week. From familiar favorites to a few surprising setups, there is always something to learn from what the best players in the world are rolling with under pressure.
To wrap things up, I walk through the process of building a set of JP Golf Prime irons paired with Baddazz Gold Series shafts. From component selection to performance goals, this is a deep dive into what goes into creating a unique custom set and why this combo has been so intriguing.

Club Pro

The PGA CLUB Professional Championship is the championship for club professionals and they actually put on on THE PGA Championship to be contested at Bethpage next week. It was probably a negotiating point when the number of PGA CLUB PROFESSIONALS getting into the PGA CHAMPIONSHIP was reduced years ago. Only 20 Club Pros get into the big event. That is a minimal amount for the association that actually puts on the event. The odds of a Club Pro winning it are extremely slim but there was once a 9th alternate tour player who led the PGA Championship wire to wire and won it. It was the story of the decade in golf. It’s legend now. I say keep the 20 players in the big show and 6 exemptions for the winner of the Club Professional Championship is not a big deal. He’s an extremely solid player and with some focused practice at the right time, he might be able to make it. The opportunity is not too much to ask for the guys who stand behind the counter in your pro shop and, hopefully, make your golf day a bit smoother.
