Check out Scotty Cameron, Odyssey, Bettinardi US Open putter covers

As is tradition, many OEMs release limited-edition major gear (for example, TaylorMade’s superb “246” staff bag and Srixon’s — which we’re giving away on Instagram). And with the 2022 edition of the United States’ national open taking place at the famed Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, there’s an overflowing chowder pot of inspiration for these exclusive designs.

First, let’s take a look at Scotty Cameron’s 2022 U.S. Open putter cover.

It’s a pretty straightforward play from SC and company here: Boston = bivalves, right? And in place of the pearl? A golf ball, of course. Red, white, and blue coloring because, well, America.

Odyssey designers also went with the RWB palette. “1894” and “The Founding” reference the establishment of the USGA (in 1894). The Country Club was one of the five (“5”) charter clubs of the United States Golf Association. As your pleated khaki-wearing uncle knows well: the other four were Newport Golf Club, St. Andrew’s Golf Club, Chicago Golf Club, and Shinnecock.

The good folks at Bettinardi went an entirely different direction: Birthing the offspring of Bettinardi’s Fat Cat and the TCC squirrel logo and opting for a white/green colorway. Betti’s ’22 “American Championship” cover is nothing if not memorable. Adherents at the altar of the Fat Cat won’t be disappointed!

Bettinardi always better at designs for covers. I thought the Cameron one was Elmo from a distance.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
