WITB Time Machine: Matt Kuchar, 2018 Mayakoba Golf Classic
With the PGA Tour making its annual trek south of the border this week, we wanted to take a look back at at the WITB of a winner of the now-World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba. Enter Matt Kuchar’s 2018 setup. Kuch finished a stroke ahead of Danny Lee at El Cameleon with his beloved Bridgestone J15CB irons in the bag along with some other regular arrows in his quiver, including a Bettinardi Kuchar Arm Lock flatstick. Rory McIlroy’s victory at the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship 2021 (now the Truist Championship) marked a significant return to form, as he captured his 19th PGA Tour title. After starting the tournament slowly and sitting well off the pace early, McIlroy surged back into contention with strong weekend play, ultimately closing with a final-round 68 to finish at 10-under par.
