WOTW: Adam Scott’s Rolex Milgauss in black and stainless steel

Adam Scott has been a long-time Rolex partner and has amassed quite the collection. We have seen him in everything from an Oyster Perpetual to full gold Day Date Presidents. The Australian was recently a guest on the Fore Play podcast wearing a Rolex Milgauss in stainless steel.

Rolex watches are known for precision and durability for diving, pilots, lap timing, or even scientific work. The Milguass was introduced in 1956 as a watch for scientists as the movement would not be effected by magnetic fields. Traditional watches can see performance change with a magnetic field greater than 50 gauss. The current Milgauss that Scott has on can withstand a field of 1,000 gauss before impacting accuracy. The Earth’s magnetic field is around .5 gauss while a refrigerator magnet comes in around 50 gauss.

Oystersteel, 904L stainless, is used to make the 40mm case for the Milgauss. The crown sits on the right side of the case and still features Rolex’s Twinlock waterproof seals to ensure a 100 meter waterproof rating. The case back is traditional Oystersteel, but underneath is an additional casing. The added protection is made from a ferromagnetic alloy and encases the entire movement. The movement inside is Rolex’s Calibre 3131 that is COSC Swiss certified. The 3131 is time only, meaning it does not have a date wheel or any other complications. Rolex’s Paracharom Bleu hairspring and Kif shock absorbers are both used inside the movement. The 3131 was used in both the Milgauss and the Air King up until 2020 when the Air King was switched over to the Calibre 3230.

The dial on the Milgauss is done in Intense Black with orange accents over the hour markers. The hour makers are large rectangles made from polished white gold and filled with Chromalight luminescent material. The 3, 6, and 9 o’clock markers are filled with an orange tinted Chromalight that glows a little darker in low light. The hour and minute hands are made from white gold and the second hand is an orange lightning bolt design. Covering the dial is the very unique sapphire crystal that has a green tint to it. This crystal is only used in the Milgauss and was developed by Rolex for this watch. The sapphire is synthetic and grown in a lab for use in watches and typically copper is infused to add the green hue. Rolex will not give any details on how they created the green sapphire and says that it took years to develop.

The bracelet is Rolex’s Oyster design, made from three flat links of Oystersteel. Each link is solid metal, including the end links, for durability. A folding Oysterclasp brings the bracelet together and contains Rolex’s Easylink adjustment to dial in the perfect fit. There are two dial colors in the current Milgauss and the blue version tends to command a slightly higher price. The black dial retails for $9,300 and they are not easy to find. Expect to pay around a $2,000 premium to get one off the secondary market.

What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
