With a 16-under 270 tally and only one driver struck all week, Tiger Woods captured the claret jug at the 2006 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. Look at the sweet spot of the putter. Think he consistently hits it there? Yep. Saw a set of Nicklaus’ old MacGregor irons, circa 1966 or so, in a display at the golf HOF when it was in Pinehurst. Every iron, including the two iron, had a dark, dime-sized circle in the dead center of the clubface. They play a different game…
