The Open Championship bag and accessories roundup

We look forward to the major championships each year for a lot of reasons, and one of those is checking out the cool gear that is created for them. This week at Royal Portrush, we have spotted some great accessories from almost all of the brands out there. Here are some of the ones that stand out from our photos on the ground.

Scotty Cameron

Mutton Chops is the name of the sheep that Scotty Cameron has on their headcover for The Open. Portrush has a rich heritage of sheep grazing in its lush grass, and Scotty has mallet, mid-mallet, and blade versions of the headcover. These here are the Circle T versions for tour players where the retail cover, which is already sold out, has Scotty’s seven-point crown on the side.

TaylorMade

There is a steam train whose track runs next to Royal Portrush, and TaylorMade brought that locomotive style to its staff bag. Everything from big rivets to the red, green, and gold trim pays tribute to the line that has been in use since 1855. On the small front pocket, you have your ticket to celebrate The Open Championship!

Cobra

Northern Ireland is well known for its whiskey production and tartan fabrics. Cobra got both right with their staff bag and headcovers. The sides of the bag look like a whiskey cask with its wood grain, and it is highlighted by a wonderful green tartan pattern. You can see an “Aged 52 years” logo that refers to aging whisky in barrels while the “52 years” pays homage to Cobra being founded in 1973.

Srixon

A deep mahogany and navy blue color are used to celebrate The Open Championship by Srixon this year. The bag has matching headcovers and around the base are the years Royal Portrush has hosted The Open (1951, 2019, 2025).

Titleist

While Titleist staff players don’t have a unique bag for The Open they did create a classy staff bag in the merchandise tent! Simple navy blue with white accents and logos go great with the oldest major championship in the sport.

Callaway

A beautiful mural of the ocean and a castle are not something you see on a golf bag outside of The Open! Callaway celebrates the importance of the Atlantic Ocean to the city and golf courses of Northern Ireland. You can see the putter headcovers have 3D moss growing between the bricks and all of the zipper pulls on the bag are small life preservers!

    so cool, wow. Little disappointing Titleist doesn’t do anything for their players still.

    But I find this fun and would be proud to sport them to show all the hard work it takes getting there.

2026 PGA Championship betting odds

Scottie Scheffler leads the betting ahead of the second major championship of the year, with the World Number One a +345 favorite to get his hands on a second PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy who won the Masters back in April is a +800 shot to complete half of the calendar slam at Aronimink Golf Club this week, while Jordan Spieth can be backed at +5900 to become a career grand slam winner.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.

Kristoffer Reitan held his nerve at Quail Hollow on Sunday to claim his first PGA Tour victory and the $3.6 million winner’s check that came with it. The Norwegian fended off a packed leaderboard on a dramatic final day, with Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Højgaard both taking home $1.76 million for their runner-up finishes.
