In this episode of the Club Junkie Podcast, we dive into one of the most interesting flatstick releases of the year with a full review of the new TaylorMade SYSTM 2 putters. After spending time on the greens, I break down what makes this design stand out, where it performs, and why it has me completely torn between loving it and fighting it. If you are into feel, alignment, and consistency, this is one you will want to hear about.

We also take a look at some of the putters in play on the PGA Tour last week. From familiar favorites to a few surprising setups, there is always something to learn from what the best players in the world are rolling with under pressure.

To wrap things up, I walk through the process of building a set of JP Golf Prime irons paired with Baddazz Gold Series shafts. From component selection to performance goals, this is a deep dive into what goes into creating a unique custom set and why this combo has been so intriguing.

Gears OVVIO wood shaft review + Masters gear breakdown! | Club Junkie Podcast

Published

I got to test out the new OVVIO driver shafts from Gears Golf. Gears created a shaft lineup to work with players’ swing types using their high-tech data. I have my hands on both the OVVIO Blue and Green profiles to compare and contrast the two. Both are 6 Stiff models, but they feel completely different. The filament-wound construction makes them seamless and very consistent. The Blue profile is a little softer and offers a straight shot bias, while the Green is a stiffer feel with more of a straight-to-draw bias flight.

Every year, we see tons of limited-edition Masters-themed gear from brands big and small. In the second part of the show, we break down some of the great items from some of the big OEMs. We take a look at some of the awesome staff bags from TaylorMade, Ghost, Callaway, Cobra, and Srixon. So many of the designs take legendary colors or objects at the Masters as influences for their look. We always see some great floral details that pay homage to Augusta National’s history as a nursery before it became a golf course.

To hear the full review on the shafts and more details on the Masters gear, take a listen to the Club Junkie Podcast!
