GolfWRX is live from The Barclays, the first round of the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Playoffs.

Last year, The Barclays was held in Farmindale, NY, at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course, where Nick Watney won by three shots over eventual FedExCup Champion Brandt Snedeker. This year, the tournament has been moved back to Liberty National Golf Club, where the tournament was held in 2009.

That year, Heath Slocum shot 9-under to edge eventual FedExCup Champion Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington and Steve Stricker by one shot. The lesson? Unless you’re Vijay Singh, who won The Barclays in 2008 and the FedExCup that year, don’t win the first event of The Playoffs — just finish near the top.
