Tweets of the week: Walker, (a different) Woods win, Tour players harass their friends

Published

on

Jimmy Walker captured his third win in his last eight starts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Sunday, despite what seemed to be a sincere attempt to give the tournament away on the back nine. Walker steadied himself and poured in a clutch par-saving putt at the last. You’ll see his wife’s (Twitter) reaction in this week’s edition of Tweets of the week.

Cheyenne Woods, too, recorded her first professional victory of any significance at the Australian Ladies Masters. Avoiding the media silliness that portrays the weak-field win as a watershed moment for women’s golf, the victory ensures that Ms. Woods will be noted for something other than being Tiger Woods’ niece who got a cup of coffee on minor women’s tours. Thus, bully for her, and here’s to hoping she can make it onto the LPGA Tour in the future.

Woods and Walker’s wins as well as the usual silliness, below.

Here’s Jason Dufner (with who I believe to be Chuck Cook his/Keegan Bradley’s) instructor. Duf tweeted this picture to his buddy Keegan Bradley, presumably in consolation after the latter missed the cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

David Lynn was not so kind to his pal Lee Westwood.

Speaking of kindness, well there’s no kind way to say this, Tim Rosaforte isn’t vey good at golf (limited sample).

Naturally, it took Nike about 3.7 seconds to produce this.

This is what Erin Walker tweeted immediately after her husband’s near back-nine implosion.

And here’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am National Champion driving his bus to Riviera. D.A. Points posed the question on everyone’s mind.

This is a stand in for all the “Hey, I got to meet a celebrity at Pebble Beach” photos pros posted during the past week.

G-Mac becomes the first golfer (I’ve seen, anyways) to complement a tweeter on his choice of literary device with this morsel.

Finally, Camilo Villegas is having a timeless problem, which gives rise to the following question: Would it be worse for your golf game to play in two Crocs, or one Crocs and one golf shoe?

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
