Tweets of the week: The only Grammy-related tweet you need to see and a selfie you don’t

We departed from the usual TOTW format with the “PGA Merchandise Show Edition” of Tweets of the week. If you were shattered by the absence of our weekly roundup of the social media silliness of the golf’s best players, you can stop crying into your golf towel. TOTW is back to its old self this week.

In a week where two pros active on social media (Scott Stallings and Jessica Korda) lifted trophies, there were several other events of earth-shattering insignificance in the social media sphere this week.

Among other things, you’ll be happy to see Scott Stallings post-victory Instagram photo, and likely horrified by what Ian Poulter determined to be worthy of tweeting.

On to the tweets.

First up, here’s a picture the frequently petulant Pat Perez tweeted of his transportation for the week of the Farmers Insurance Open.

It seems Justin Rose is sticking with the flatstick design that he used during his win at the U.S. Open at Merion last year. The Englishman retweeted the following photo from TaylorMade of his custom Spider Blade putter.

Here’s a collage from Michelle Wie’s Instagram that manages to reinforce the Wie brand (and showcase two of the golfer’s major sponsors) without being too obnoxious or overt. Are you taking notes, Bubba Watson?

Scott Stallings stood firm at Torrey Pines on Sunday en route to victory at the Farmers Insurance Open. However, this post from the golfer’s Instagram reveals that he has his priorities in order. Well played, Mr. Stallings.

Our featured photo shows the eternally over-sharing Ian Poulter, well…see for yourself. Poults is breaking new ground for professional golfers on social media. As always, I can’t help but ask #WhatWouldBenHoganThink?

Here’s Rickie Fowler with his college’s mascot, Pistol Pete. The real story here: If Rickie’s “Dick Fowler P.I.” spends the next 30 years in the sun, he’ll look exactly like Pete.

If your #perfectsaturdaynight includes binging on Breaking Bad, you have something in common with Wozilroy. However, you likely don’t retire to watch Walter White after a grueling run-bike-swim session like the elite golfer and tennis star duo.

Free press for Loudmouth Golf alert: Surely, you saw John Daly’s latest trouserly abomination. And if you were wondering “Has his sponsor finally gone too far in dressing him up like a buffoon?” or “Has J.D. had enough of dressing up in literal clown-like attire?”

The answer: apparently not. Daly embraced the Squarepants pants, tweeting the following:

There weren’t a lot of touring professionals tweeting about the Grammys, although Jason Dufner has a lot to say (check out his Twitter here). However, the best tweet during the award show belonged to Joe Ogilvie.

Me too, Joe. Me too.

Too bad the loud mouth pants cost as much as Perez’s ride for the week.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
