Justin Rose inks apparel deal with Adidas

Published

on

In May, Adidas announced that it was actively seeking a buyer for its golf equipment brands (TaylorMade and Adams), as well as its golf-lifestyle apparel brand, Ashworth. The company made it clear, however, that it wanted to remain in the golf shoe/apparel space with its Adidas Golf brand, which is where Justin Rose’s new contract comes into play.

Rose has been a long-time user of TaylorMade equipment, and since 2012 he has been under contract to wear Ashworth apparel. Adidas announced today that it has signed him to an apparel/shoe contract, and he will begin sporting Adidas threads at this week’s U.S. Open. Rose was already wearing Adidas golf shoes, so those will stay the same.

“We are thrilled to bring another top-10 athlete into Adidas Golf apparel and further our investment in the game of golf,” said Jeff Lienhart, Executive Vice President of adidas Golf. “Justin has a great eye for product. He’s a natural athlete, and he will be a great ambassador for Adidas Golf and the exciting things we have planned for the future.”

Looking ahead, the possible sale of TaylorMade creates a unique situation for other TaylorMade staffers, including No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, Jason Day, who is paid to use TaylorMade clubs and wear Adidas golf shoes and apparel.

Rose’s future seems clear, however. He will continue to be an Adidas man, even if TaylorMade is no longer owned by Adidas.

Is that really inking a deal, or is that just Adidas selling Ashworth so the contract is shifted over before that happens?

At last. Justin will look a lot better in Adidas than the tat that Ashworth made him wear. The only time you see Ashworth in the UK is on the sale racks. Once the best shirts on the market, now garbage.

GolfWRX is on site for the second major of 2026: The PGA Championship from Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

The tournament’s location, just outside Philadelphia, and its status as a major championship mean GolfWRXers are in for a treat: WITBs from a strong field, custom gear celebrating the PGA Championship, and the rich culture of the City of Brotherly Love — we have noted a relative absence of cheesesteak-themed items thus far this week, but most of the rest of the usual suspects are well represented.
